Cookie Policy
Effective Date: September 2026 • Last Updated: September 5, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how KitchenZap uses browser cookies and LocalStorage technologies to deliver a fast, reliable, and secure restaurant management and digital ordering experience.
1. Types of Cookies and Storage We Use
A. Essential Session Authentication Cookies
Used to keep restaurant owners and staff securely logged into the POS Dashboard without having to re-authenticate on every page transition.
B. Customer Cart & Table Token LocalStorage
When a customer scans a table QR code (e.g. Table #4) on the Web Ordering App, the table token and active cart items are cached in the browser's LocalStorage. This ensures customer items are preserved even if the mobile browser refreshes.
C. Preference Cookies (Dark / Light Theme)
Stores the merchant's preferred dashboard UI mode (Dark Mode or Light Mode).
2. Zero Third-Party Advertising Trackers
KitchenZap does NOT deploy invasive third-party cross-site tracking cookies, behavioral ad pixels, or data-broker trackers. All stored items are purely operational and strictly first-party.
3. How You Can Manage Cookies
You can clear or block cookies at any time through your web browser settings. Note that disabling essential session cookies may prevent you from logging into the restaurant dashboard or saving active cart selections.
